What are the room size requirements for the radialstrahler speakers?

Due to the revolutionary design of the radialstrahler speaker it is one of the few speakers in the world that can accommodate nearly any room size big or small. Due to the low frequencies that excite the rooms energy it allows the listener to sit very near of far from the speaker. Unlike conventional speakers that require special room size and treatment to find only one “sweet spot” the radialstraher Omni directional speaker uses the entire room for sound reflection allowing the listener to enjoy the music throughout the room. Of course like all speakers the larger the speaker the larger the room capabilities.

Ideal rooms sizes:  121 Compact speaker   –  80  sft – 300sft

                             116 Elegance speaker  – 100 sft – 500sft

                             101 – MKII speaker      – 100 sft – 800 sft

                             101 Xtreme speaker     – 150 sft – 1000 sft

What does linear sound pressure represent?

Linear sound pressure represents the maximum sound pressure volume level before distortion. Example the 101 – MKII SPL linear max:= 106 DB.

Are 9007, 9008 or other powerful manufacturer amplifiers too much for smaller 116 speakers?

No, all mbl products are built for high performance, the larger the amp the better the speaker performance. The smaller speaker models such as 121 and 116 play great with very little amplification.

How long can I leave my amplifiers in stand by mode?

You can leave the amplifiers in “standby” for any period of time, however if you know that you will not be using your system for a period of time it is best to switch them to “off” position.

The speakers are built to a low SPL, does that mean I need large amounts of power to run the speakers?

The Radialstraher speakers are build to an avergae 82 – 84db/Wm .The speakers are an "Omni" design that support an incredibly powerful subwoofer, woofer, midrange and tweeter. The speakers thrive on power and the more you give them the better they perform. The speakers will play crystal clear music with small amounts of amplification however you may not achieve the same level of performance.
